Where to do a Photo Shoot

Whether it's for Senior pictures, a Birthday, or you're just with some friends, finding a good spot to take pictures is important! You want them to look as Tumblr/ Pinterest-esque as possible! I have come across some pretty good tips and rules along the way that I thought could come in handy!!

First- Plan for it! Obviously you can take pictures whenever and wherever you want but, if you want them to look extra good you need to plan. Do your makeup how you like and wear a super cute outfit that fits with your theme. It will make your picture that much better when you look and feel your best and the outfit coordinates with your surroundings!

Second- Find your location and theme! Are you going for a laid back vibe? A fun care free with friends shoot? Or a spooky midnight party? Whatever you are planning for, you have to find a great location! If it's something laid back maybe go to the ocean or some mountains if they are close. If you are doing a fun shoot with some friends maybe find the nearest carnival or movie theater. If you are looking for something spooky you could find a Halloween Haunted House or even the creepy abandoned house down the road! Whatever your theme is you have to find a good location for it!

Third- Have a photographer or tripod! You can take as many selfies as your heart desires but, if you want that extra great shot it helps to have a helper. You can switch off friends to take turns shooting or you can bring your own tripod! The timer setting is on most phones and cameras so use it! Their are also devices you can connect to your camera with a button you can push when you are ready and it takes the picture!

Fourth- Once you have your picture, DO NOT OVER EDIT. Over editing can ruin the most amazing picture. If you need to brighten the photo use just as much exposure as you need. If your face needs some smoothing, smooth out the important parts, but be careful not to go over board and make your face look 2 dimensional. Also, only use one filter! Maybe you can get away with 2 but more than that usually makes it look crazy.

Those are just a few tried and true tips that I've accumulated over the years. I have a whole album full of horrible over edited pictures I could show you guys so just know; everyone goes through the bad picture phase, but hopefully these tips can help your pictures become even more profesh!! As in professional...

P.S. For some reason when I upload these onto my blog they come up a million times brighter and more pigmented then they actually are! You can see a lot of the original pictures on Facebook or Instagram!!
